About Marubella Photography

Welcome and thank you for taking the time to have a read and get to know me and my business better! My name is Taryn, and I love to capture my clients images around the Wellington, Kapiti and Hutt regions. If you live further afield, I would still love to hear from you as I have travelled outside of my region many times in the past.

Before I became a photographer, I became a mother. While being a mother has its many ups and downs, one of the ups I loved the most was having some cute little humans I could photograph whenever I wanted, while creating some lasting memories with them, as they are only young for such a small amount of time! This helped ignite my hidden passion for Photography so much that one day I went out and purchased my first professional camera, and set about learning everything and anything I could about Photography.

Many years have passed since then, my skills have grown - and will continue to grow - as Photography is one of those skills that always has something new to learn about it, no matter how long you have been in the industry. I thoroughly enjoyed studying to gain my Diploma in Professional Photography, while also finding education from other sources in order to upskill as much as I could. Something I'm still very much doing in this present day.

The name Marubella came about very randomly, after days of mulling over other possibilities. A friend suggested "smooshing" family names together and see what cool names come from them. Marubella is a combination of my youngest daughters last name - Marunui - and my last name - Ibell. I felt that Marubell wasn't complete enough so the A was added on and here we are! Many people have trouble pronouncing it, and I can fully understand why! But to help you along.. it has a Māori tone to it - just roll the R!
